Pain in the Neck
Jan. 27th, 2013 09:52 amThe neck injury did not improve between yesterday and today. I am going to carefully schedule a Doctor’s appointment tomorrow to let them have a look at it. I can take care of Caroline but I am extremely thankful that she is 10 not 5. She can help me get stuff and pick stuff up off the floor. She has been a good girl and a big help to her Mom.
So sleep was a little elusive last night. I got it in 20 to 40 minute sections but nothing really consistent.
Ibuprofen does seem to ease it a bit so it hurts but it doesn’t HURT. I am also using heat to see if I can loosen up the muscles that I can feel tightening on my neck.
Peter is continuing to work towards coming home. They are running him through a series of tests about once a week to see what he has regained and what they feel he needs to work on next week. Walking is happening but only for short distances. They are working on strengthening his right leg and getting it to cooperate with the left. They are also focusing on correcting his gait so that he doesn’t hurt his hip or knee while walking. The right arm is still the big question mark in all this. His shoulder suffered some damage that is causing all kinds of grief with the arm as a whole. His hand is improving.
Today Caroline and I have some activities planned for the two of us to do that don’t involve a lot of neck movement for me.
I am grateful for any neck movement that is not painful today.
