RTBTCKI stands for Random Thoughts Before the Coffee Kicks In. I started it one morning when my brain felt fragmented and I had a bunch of stuff to say. I have used it since then to tell/warn readers that my brain might not be quite at fighting form while I am writing this. I do sip my way through my first cup while I write this and tend to stop when I feel the caffeine kick in.

NFL playoffs are today. The owners of the NFL and TV stations are hoping for Patriots vs. 49ers since that can be spun as East vs. West and a whole lot of other things that make for good viewing numbers. Personally I am hoping for Ravens vs. Falcons. I think it would be a better game and to see the Falcons in a Superbowl after the Falcons of the 1980s would be a lovely thing.

Yesterday Caroline and I went food shopping. I cleaned the cat boxes in rather cold temperatures. And Caroline and I finished the Lego Hobbit Hole that Caroline got for Christmas. I have to give a tip of my hat to Lego for this new system where they have the build in stages and the bags with the pieces for each stage are marked. Made it a heck of a lot easier to put the whole thing together. Also we had all the pieces which we hadn’t had when we put together three of the Harry Potter Lego things. Caroline is currently playing with the characters planning their adventure and be interrupted by the Dragons from How to Train Your Dragon needed a cup of sugar or some carrots. Hilarity ensues.

Peter sat up on the edge of the bed by himself yesterday. You really don’t think about how you use your whole body to do things and that the muscles on both sides are called into play to do even simple tasks. He has gotten his right side strong enough that he can now move himself to a seating position. He continues to improve and each improvement is a blessing.

Today Caroline and I are going to go to the local Library. She has some subjects she wants to get some books on and a couple of series that she is reading through. I have a couple of topics I want to get books on to read.

We are also working on putting away everything that got shipped up from Atlanta. That includes gifts that need places to go and other things that need to go back from whence they came. I also need to put the Playstation 3 back since it is our Blue-Ray player and find the DVD remote for it. The cats are loving the boxes that are in the living room.

Caroline has tomorrow off from school for Martin Luther King day. We are sorting out what we are going to do since most of the town will be closed. I think the YMCA will be open but I have to check. There is an inauguration to watch as well.

Well off to start the day since I can feel my brain working at a faster clip.

I am grateful for Legos and the hours of fun they have given me over the years.

Hi there I am Puppetmaker40 aka Kathleen O’Shea David. People who met me before 1990 call me Kathy and after 1990 call me either Kathleen or Kath with a couple of exceptions.

I am married to Peter David, writer of stuff. I have three adult stepdaughters Shana, Gwen, and Ariel and one daughter Caroline who is 10.

I have held a plethora of jobs over my working life. These include Master Puppeteer, AEA Stage Manger, Book Editor for Del Rey Books, Book Store manager, Comic Book Store manager, Collection Management for a University Library, and Mom. I have done and seen a lot in my life. I can never say that my life has been boring and I have very few regrets.

I am known on the Internet for my puppets, dolls and costumes. This past DragonCon I did a sketch as part of the puppet slam with all the Doctors Who and a parody of a Billy Joel song that we entitled “For a Lord of Time”. It’s up on Youtube if you want to take a look.

I am a fan that became a pro. I have attended science fiction conventions since I was a teenager. I loved comic books. I am a voracious reader of a lot of things. I geek out on my favorite TV shows and movies. I have had a Dr Who short story published in a Big Finish Anthology. My husband and I created a series for the Stan Lee World of Heroes channel called Headcases (more on that later in the competition I think). So you can find me in person at various Science Fiction conventions.

I am Caroline’s mom and quite proud of my little girl. She is 10. She loved to read and draw. She is good at school and still likes school. She is a very thoughtful little girl who wants the best for everyone.

Recently our lives changed rather drastically when my husband had a stroke at Disney World. That was three weeks ago and we are still dealing with the fallout from that. But he is getting better and I am grateful for every improvement he makes.

So I open the floor to questions. What do YOU want to know about me?
