I remember the first time I saw Vince. It was on the Quad at Emory University. He was juggling. We were introduced to each other at Theater Emory and worked on a number of shows over the years. We “found” each other on facebook through one of our mutual TE friends I think but it was nice to catch up on things since we hadn’t seen each other in a while.

Yesterday I found out that Vince had passed away due to a heart attack and my heart sunk low in my chest.

Vince was a clown, a philosopher, a juggler, a mime, and so many other things to so many people. His clowning was amazing. He could do so much with so little. His juggling was incredible. He always had a twinkle in his eye and some joke to tell both good and bad.

As a Stage Manager I appreciated that he showed up on time and ready to work. I knew he was someone I didn’t have to worry about because he would be off book pretty much about the time I needed him to be. Also he picked up after himself and that’s a biggie to a stage manager.

Vince taught me how to juggle. I didn’t think I could and I thought I would never be able to but he did. He could teach anyone how to juggle. Didn’t matter how uncoordinated you were, he could get you to where you were juggling even if it was for a short time.

We talk about positive people and being positive. Vince walked the walk as well as talked the talk. He helped a lot of people through his clowning and sense of humor.

My prayers and sympathies to his friends and family. He will be missed by many including me.

I am grateful that I reconnected with Vince.
