The fog comes in on little cat feet
Jan. 2nd, 2011 09:35 amCarl Sandberg wrote this wonderful poem that I love to this day. I think I was 8 when I first read it.
The fog comes
on little cat feet.
It sits looking
over harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on.
Right now we are in a cloud. The fog is rather thick and mysterious. However the snow is melting rather nicely. It stayed above freezing all night so that the piles of snow are no longer as massive as they were a day or so ago.
Yesterday was rather productive. I finished two projects left over from 2010 that I plan to get out into the mail Monday. So today I begin on projects for 2011. Go me.
In terms of reading 52 books in a year, do manuscripts of untitled novels count? If so I read an untitled Peter David novel yesterday that was quite good. Ah the advantages of being married to a writer.
Tomorrow Caroline goes back to school. We have been getting her back on her sleep schedule with the exception of New Years Eve. So tonight is regular bedtime in hopes that she gets up at the usual time. We also go back to our regular schedule with a few activities added to the mix.
Hope that the New Year has been good so far to you. Yeah I know we are only two days into it and it is a weekend but go with the flow.
I am grateful for poems that stick with me.
