Free Comic Book Day 2010
May. 1st, 2010 08:14 amWhich happens to fall on May Day.
Happy May Day!
We made it through the winter and into the spring rapidly heading for the halcyon days of summer.
It is also Free Comic Book Day at your local comic book shop. Stop by and get something new to read. There is a lot of good stuff out there and your local comic book shop owner would love to see you.
In honor of the day, Peter will be writing more comics. (Not really, he just has a lot of work to do which is a good thing.)
Caroline and I are going to the first communion of one of her best friends today. Peter and Ariel have their own adventure planned out. We’ll all meet back up later today.
I took Caroline to the library to renew her Library card. They have to take her picture every two years since kids do grow pretty fast. This time she smiled and then signed her own name rather than me signing for her. She has changed a lot in two years. And having a shiny new library card, she went downstairs and found herself a whole bunch of new reading material.
Friday night is cartoon night at Casa David. We start with the Brave and the Bold then watch Ben 10 and Generator Rex and finally either Star Wars or Phineas and Ferb if it is a new one. Last night Caroline read during the commercials while we flipped to the Mets game. She finished two books during that time. One she had read before and one that she read for the first time.
It is going to be a rather warm day today and sunny, which will be nice indeed. I foresee some yard work in my future. We don’t get the lawnmower back until Monday or Tuesday so the shagginess of our grass will continue until we get it back. I also need to pick up gas for it. Maybe I’ll borrow a mower from one of our neighbors to at least get the front up to code.
I hope your May Day is a good one.
I am grateful for Caroline’s passion for reading.
