COLD does not even begin to describe this morning

Caroline’s walk to the bus stop this morning had an additional factor of the wind chill factor which ripped through all the layers I dresses us in. My cheeks are still burning and I was wearing a scarf.

I did get a lot done yesterday but I have a long list today because Caroline is in school so I have 6 hours without anyone here but me. I know I have a package coming in from UPS. I missed it because I was out going to Fed EX for a package I didn’t get because I was out stocking the larder.

We need someone at home especially in the afternoon because ‘tis the season for special packages from California to arrive. Peter is a member of the WGA as well as the animator writers union. As such about this time of year the screeners start to arrive. Screeners are movies that the movie companies want Peter to consider for nomination for various awards. Some are already out on DVD, others have just come out or about to come out on DVD, and then there are the true gems movies that have not even been released except in very limited release if that. The downside is that all theses lovelies have to be signed for with a valid ID. They can’t just leave them because the studio wants to know who has what copy because each has a specific code so they don’t end up on the black market. I can’t tell you what we have because that would violate the agreement that was signed so that the companies can send out screeners. I have two that I would love to get but don’t think I will.

This weekend is going to be a pretty quiet one. I want to get some presents completed and I need to find one that I have lost somewhere in the house. I also have a package to ship to my eldest step-daughter that I promised her before the end of the year.

I am grateful for fun packages at this time of year

LJ Idol Week 7 Topic: One Touch

I know some pretty interesting people. Some are famous to the world and others are very well known within their field. Peter knows some seriously interesting people as well and through him I have expanded my list of people that not only I know but know me as well. Then we have our mutual friends who are people that we both knew before we got together and were friends with. One of the people on this list is a writer by the name of Neil Gaiman.
