Thunder and Lighting! So Exciting!
Nov. 20th, 2009 09:46 amAt 5:00 AM I awoke to a loud BOOM! I had been in the middle of a dream so the Boom at first seem to integrate itself but then it pulled me out of the dream. It had something to do with stage managing Hamlet with some actors I have worked with and some actors I haven’t but have seen their work and, of course, something was going wrong and I was working to fix it and keep my cast alive.
Anyway, I awoke and saw a very bright flash followed quickly by one heck of a BOOM. “Wow,” I thought, “that was close.” Caroline was in the bed with me and she was peacefully sleeping away. I tried to count between the flash and the thunder but they were right on top of each other which meant that the storm was right on top of us. The wind was howling and the rain was moving sideways and beat against the house. Then it started to moving away and I could count the storm moving off. The rain started to slack off about quarter to 6 and I went back to sleep until 7. Caroline didn’t stir during the whole thing.
I sort of took the day off yesterday. I didn’t get much done but I didn’t beat myself up for not getting much done. I needed a day to regroup before starting to clean the house for Thanksgiving since we are doing it here with the immediate family members this year. After all the traveling we have been doing for the past couple of months, it will be nice to not go somewhere for a change.
This afternoon I am taking Caroline to a Pajama Party at our local Disney Store. She really wants to go and I see no reason not to take her. She had a lot of fun at the scavenger hunt the last time she went. It will be a nice outing. She has her PJ’s all picked out and I approve of them because they look like a Little House on the Prairie dress with a Tinkerbell pattern.
So this morning begins the big clean up. I know what I want to get done this morning and I think I can get most of it done but it is going to be bits and pieces all through out the house. I have a way of cleaning that works for me but is confusing to anyone else who might be watching me. But in the end, it all gets done and looks good.
I have a week to get the house under control which is good since Caroline’s Birthday party is two weeks from Saturday. She is having her Birthday part on her actual Birthday. Hard to believe that my little girl is turning Seven Years Old! It seems like I brought her home from the hospital yesterday.
I am grateful for that which is already clean.
