Pleasant Breezes Pleasant Sunday
Sep. 13th, 2009 10:24 amYesterday was a lot of rain and thunder and more rain. I watched a young couple move into their new house in the rain. They had a gang of friends so it went quickly for them but every time the moving truck showed up, the skies seem to open up. But now they are all moved in.
Today is that lovely day that happens after a good series of rainstorms. There is a nice breeze and it is much less humid than it had been all last week. Caroline and I are plotting what we are going to do today. The library is out until October because it is closed on Sunday until then. The lawn is still soaked so lawn care is not really in the cards so maybe we’ll take a long walk together. If the driveway dries out, I see chalk drawing in our future.
Peter is off to Brooklyn today for the book festival. NYCC has a series of panels and autographing in conjunction with the book festival so Peter is going to participate in the Marvel panel at 1pm and the autographing from 2 to 3. This after he finishes up his Ben 10 script he needs to have off to the network by open of business tomorrow.
Caroline and I have been listening through the Beatles Big Box Set. She really likes the Beatles music. She has been iffy about other artists but she is always game for the Beatles. I am finding which songs I can just let her listen to and which I am doing the skip button on for one reason or another. I understand why I didn’t realize there was a second record to the white album until much later in my young life. Her current favorites are Octopus’s Garden, Yellow Submarine, and Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da which is funny to me because as a kid, Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da was my favorite Beatles’ tune.
Yesterday I cleaned up Ariel’s room and got it back in some sort of order. Today looks like it is going to be Caroline’s room because then we can get her bed installed and she can have her big girl bed. Or maybe I’ll tackle the rest of Ariel’s room. I think this week is going to be about cleaning. Next week I’ll get some other things done. And next thing I know, it’s going to be Halloween.
I am grateful for pleasant breezes after a rain storm.
