We had just a lovely day for the visit to the game farm. The weather was warm but not too hot and the light breeze made for a very comfortable visit. Caroline's favorite thing to see was the tiger show and her favorite thing was to feed the animals including a very tall giraffe. We had fun with her troop and it was a nice way to finish off this session. I have a few meetings in the next couple of weeks to secure our troop for next year. I need to take the Brownie Leadership course and renew my First Aid and Infant/children CPR certificates.
Peter is taking Caroline to see UP today since he hasn't seen it yet. Caroline is more than happy to take her daddy to see it. The two of them are so cute together.
Caroline has been pouring over a visual dictionary that we got at BEA. She loves looking through it and asking about what she is seeing. It is a very good dictionary too so it makes it easier to explain things to her. Her thirst for knowledge is a wonderful thing and I treasure it.
I am going to be working on a puppet that I have started for Shoreleave and probably have a go at mowing the lawn after it dries out a bit. Right now I am watching Caroline play school with her dollies and listening to classical music while a light breeze crosses my body. Rather pleasant start to the day I think.
The Mets are playing hurt and it looks like this ship is not going to right itself anytime soon. So of course they have the Phillies and the Yankees coming up. Sure the pitching has been erratic at best but we have the team that hits into more double plays and can't get men around the base. I am sad when I look at how many men they have had in scoring position and they just can't seem to get them around. Maybe they will improve or maybe they will fade into the back of the standings but I am not expecting much from the Mets this year.
I need to buy new shoes. The inside of one of the heels has broken down and is stabbing me in the back of the foot so I am wearing my sneakers instead of my slip ons. I also may add a pair of sandals to the mix as well. I was talking to a friend who was bemoaning the number of shoes she had but she felt she needed them because of outfits and the like. She asked me how many pairs of shoes I had and I answered 4, two pairs of dress shoes (one black and one brown), one pair of sneakers and my slip-ons which are black. If I get sandals then I will have 5. Peter and I have a pair of flip-flops between us. Apparently that might make me less of a girl than I am but I have never seen the need for lots of shoes.
I watched Pushing Daisies last night and am remembering how much I loved this show and how much I am going to miss it. It was a great episode for Chi McBride as we find out a lot more about his baby momma and his daughter. Gina Torres shows up in this one and does such a great job with her character. The two shows that I think got cut off before their prime are Pushing Daisies and Eli Stone. But ABC seems to come down with the axe faster than FOX these days.
I am grateful for all the fun Caroline and I had yesterday and the fact that neither of us are sunburned today.
