puppetmaker: (Caroline and me)
We came in 8th in the women’s league out of 14 which is good. If we had been on our game the last night, the highest we could have climbed was 5th. As it stands, if we hadn’t won our last game we would be in 10th. I got my 200 and 180 patches for two different games. I was 2 sticks short of 60 pins over average. Now I have a summer league I am participating in with Peter and my team has agreed to be back next year. I am betting we are expanding to 20 teams next year.

Caroline has a loose front tooth which she is absentmindedly wiggling with is driving me a little loony. I probably did the same thing to my parents so I guess what goes around comes around. I can see that the adult tooth is pushing the baby tooth out and am guessing that she will have that gap in a week or less.

Caroline had her check-up yesterday. She passed with flying colors. She is 46 inches tall and 49 pounds. Which puts her in the tall and skinny category. According to the various charts, she is a fine weight for her height. She did have to get a shot, but she was a big girl about it although she didn’t like the ouch that came with it.

We are at Oasis 22 this weekend. I am started to get ready for it now so I am not rushing around to get packed. I am hoping to see some old friends this weekend. If you are there please say Hi. I like to meet the people who read this blog.

I am at the point that I want to tell a couple of fandoms to get a grip. I am seeing behaviors that are not very inclusive of the new fans which is a shame. A lot of these people are younger and will be carrying on the fandom after the fogey fans pass into that great beyond. Yes, we have played with the toys for a long time but now there are new kids who want to play so let them. On the flip side, not all change is good and the fogeys might know a thing or two about fandom which will help the young pups to avoid some of the heart-ache and problems that have occurred in the past. I also find it a little off putting that some of the people who are excluding are the ones that ranted the hardest about being excluded.

Chuck was re-upped. With a lot of conditions to bring the costs down and only 13 episodes so I have a feeling that the Buy More is no more which is fine because that part of Chuck’s life was done. I do hope that Awesome and his sister are still in the picture.

Reaper has caught his last soul which is too bad. But, as Peter pointed out, that show was put into a time slot that was meant to fail considering what it was up against. Too bad, I really thought the show had found its footing.

The end of House was pretty powerful and sets up all kinds of possibilities for next year. Hugh Laurie again proved what an excellent actor he is this season. I also enjoyed his performance in Monsters vs. Aliens.

Sarah Conner is terminated. Fox said they didn’t care how the film performs, they were not spending the money. Makes me wonder about the film because I am betting that FOX executives saw the final product.

I have a bunch of household things to do. I am putting some stuff on hold until after we are back from Oasis and then I am putting peddle to the metal on a couple of things for Shoreleave.

I watched Peter walk Caroline to school today. I watched them walking down the sidewalk and talking to each other about various things and it put such a smile on my face and warmed my heart.

I am grateful for things that put a smile on my face and warm my heart.
