Kelly Kulick is cool
Jan. 30th, 2009 09:35 amI have told the tale of how the Davids' met Kelly and how Peter put her into an issue of Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman as one of Flash Thompson's old girlfriends. Ariel had Kelly as an instructor at the Dick Ricter Bowling Camp this past summer.
For those of you just joining our tale, Kelly Kulick was the first female professional bowler to earn a Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) Tour exemption. She has many other achievements in the bowling world as well.
Yesterday Kelly came and worked with Ariel's high school bowling team since they are going to counties next week. The girls are taking Regents Exams this week so most of the team (Ok all but one) made it for a bowling clinic. Kelly worked with them for 4 hours.
Afterwards we took Kelly out to dinner at one of our favorite local haunts. It was a good meal and a good time. We talked about a lot of things cooking, beer flavors, places to eat in the US, how Peter and I met and other topics. One thing we didn't talk much about was bowling. And that was fine. It was one of those organic conversations that went from a to b then to j and back to c that makes of a very pleasant evening. Caroline declared that Kelly was really cool at the end of the meal.
In other bowling news, I was pacing one of my Monday night bowling partners since she will not be there for the next two weeks. I scored my highest game a 223. I had only one open the whole game. I have the front 5 and then just got a nasty split. Not too bad for me.
I am grateful for pleasant meals with cool people.
