Was it my imagination or were the cameras picking up a lot more trash talking this week? I know it goes on but it seemed a little more aggressive this past week both in the professional and the college games.

Jets deserved to lose. I haven't seen play that sloppy in quite a while from them. I am betting that there will be a lot of yelling at the team meeting today. Sorry Jets fans, but they have to bring it to win and defeating the Titans doesn't give them an automatic play-off berth. Pats won at pretty much the last minute so they are tied again with the Jets as are the Dolphins which is pretty amazing considering Miami's recent record. So are the Jets going to tank the rest of the season? Or are they going to step it up and get it done?

With a Cowboys loss and not a Giants win, the Giants clinch their division. I'm not counting the Giants out. They have just been doing too well this season but if they can't keep the pressure on other teams through what is left of the season, you can thank Mr. Burress for distraction the team and putting his other teammates in jeopardy.

The Titans clinched and will probably have the best record this year. The Cardinals clinched as well and I see them going pretty far. I think the Broncos are in but I don't think they will go much further than this. The Bucs vs. the Panthers games has taken on a while new meaning and will probably give us one heck of a game this evening. Steelers are looking good but the Ravens are on their heels.

The Bowl game system stinks. And it gets worse every year. How they figure this thing out is beyond my ability but it just hasn't worked in years. Some schools that should be in and have the records to be in are pushed aside for schools that have more "history" or "clout". Then there are the teams that have been playing puff-ball teams to rack up the numbers but you know they are going to get killed against a real team. And as much as they try, there is no #1 college team in the nation because there is really no national system. I do agree with the Florida vs. Okalahoma games this year (Sorry Texas but you just didn't get it done this year). But after that I have real questions about the picks.

Caroline had a nice birthday party. Weather prevented her cousins from joining us but she had fun with the guests that did show up. They made Bobble-head Monkeys and a couple of other crafts. The kids had fun. The teenagers had fun. The adults had fun which makes it a successful party all the way around. She loves the gifts that she got. (Side note to Mary Aileen: She played with the pots and pans most of the evening making food for her stuffed animals and her horses. She came up with some rather interesting recipes. So your gift is a BIG hit). She played with everything she got at some point and then snuggled under her new blanket with puppies on it and fell asleep in Peter's lap.

Today I am picked up what we didn't get to last night which isn't that much. Tomorrow I want to work on some projects that have gone a bit by the way side in all the build up to Thanksgiving and then Caroline's Birthday party.

I am grateful to my grandparents.
