Tuesday Morning Quarterbacking
Oct. 14th, 2008 10:04 amI had to wait until the Giants played last night before I could type this up.
Well the Giants had their kisters handed to them rather nicely. I don’t think this is the beginning of the end of their hopes for the playoffs and a possible repeat but I do think it needs to be a wake up call especially for the defense. But the offense needs to look at what they are doing too. I mean 3 turnovers to none? It was not Eli’s shining moment. I think they will do better next time. They have a couple of games against teams that haven’t been doing well. But they need to do well against the teams that can bring it to the field.
The Jets showed that they have a little something going on. As much as I objected to Farve joining the team, I will admit he has brought it to the table and shown me that he is not slacking off. And the rest of the team has risen to having Farve in the position of quarterback. It’s not a perfect marriage but it is doing pretty well for itself. Now if they can keep the injuries down, they might have a shot at the playoffs.
There were a number of games that had just nail biting endings. How about that Houston/Miami game? I love how all the pundits are saying that they all knew it was going to be a quarterback draw play now. Then I think they were as surprised as I was on the large hole that was created that Matt Schaub walked through and won the game. That must have been sweet for him.
How about the Atlanta/Chicago game? That field goal had me holding my breath.
The Saints/Raiders game was fun to watch too, if you were a Saints fan. Can someone tell me what happened to the Raiders? On paper they didn’t look that bad but on the field they just can’t get it done.
Football was fun this weekend. And kudos to the Texas Longhorns for finding away to take the air out of Oklahoma's sails.
I am grateful for good football.
