Today is Flag Day in the United States. It is also the birthday of my one and only sister Sheila.

After having a brother, I told my mother, after she told me she was going to have another baby, that I wanted a sister. I remember my mother laughing and telling me that we will see. I did tell my mother the gender of each of her children before they were born.

Sheila is 7 years younger than I am so I was in grade school when she was a baby. I do remember her as a baby. She had one outfit that she wore a lot that had a pumpkin appliquéd on the front that I remember.

I classify her as a conservative adventurer. She decides to do something that is rather daring and figures it all out before she tells us what she is going to do. I didn't know she was going to go live in Japan until she was practically out the door and on her way. This year I found out that she was going to England for a conference over Easter to meet some of her favorite authors. Nothing too wild (no bungie jumping that I know of) but she does surprise me from time to time.

Caroline loves her Aunt Sheila. Sheila has always been the recipient of hugs from Caroline. She has told me that Aunt Sheila is huggable on more than one occasion. Caroline is looking forward to seeing her Aunt Sheila either this summer or at DragonCon.

Sheila has this hip cool bohemian vibe that would have served her well in the 1960s but it does pretty well for itself here in the 2000s. She does have a fashion sense that is rather timeless and has used many a thrift store to her advantage to make some really cool outfits. She is also skinny as a rail so most things in the thrift store fit her.

I can remember we were shopping for bride's maid outfits for Sean and Rozana's wedding and Rozana asked Sheila if she could borrow her body so Rozana could try on this cute dress. Sheila refused because she knew that Rozana would not return it to her. We were standing there during the exchange while people were throwing us strange looks but it was a perfectly rational conversation to us.

Sheila plays "Second Life" a game that I have not even started to understand but she has fun at it. She even has a business that she has set up there. Considering the number of times that I made her play D&D, it shouldn't surprise me. She was always good at role play interaction.

I love her and I am very proud of her and her accomplishments. She is a great sister to me, a great sister-in-law to Peter and a wonderful aunt to the girls.

I am grateful for Sheila in my life.

So does anyone else want to play Clue or Charades now?

This is a nice historical piece placed within the timeline of Agatha Christie life with a nice science fiction twist. Fenella Woolgar looks like a young Dame Agatha and plays the part with the right touch of drawing room drama that is all through out this piece which makes sense since she is a theatrical actress who studies at RADA.

Again my love for Donna increases. This one felt like the writer was not quite sure what to do with her. Some times she felt very Donna and others it felt like she was being used as a sidekick.

And does anyone have a tally for how many times the Doctor and Donna have declared themselves not a couple?

Of course spoilers behind the cut and in the comments.

Next week, from the new producer of Doctor Who who also informed us not to Blink, we now have to avoid the shadows. Ariel slept with her light on for two nights after the next two and that is my only comment until the episodes air.
