I bet the streets of New Orleans look like a ghost town right now with a few people trying to keep the party going and the residents informing them that this is bad form. It is an amazing thing to see.

I found out yesterday for the first time why pancakes on Shrove Tuesday. I had wondered about that for many years. Since Ash Wednesday is the beginning of the 40 days of Lent and plain food is suppose to be eaten during the time, you had to get rid of your richer ingredients (eggs, milk, sugar) so that they would not go bad during the 40 days because you were not suppose to eat rich food. So pancakes are one of the more efficient ways of consuming those ingredients.

I am honestly trying to figure out what I got done yesterday. I ran a series of errands that needed to be done. I restocked the larder. And that was about it. Most of the rest of the day was spent taking care of various things around the house that needed attending to and playing with Caroline.

Today I want to get two puppets done. And it is not an unreasonable goal once I gather the materials I need to get the project done. My biggest worry is that my patterns have vanished off the face of the earth right now. They are somewhere in the house but darn if I know really where. Why is it I have these mad organizational skills when it comes to work or another person but they never seem to kick in for me?

My little sister came up with a new term that I like called "anticrastination" in which you go ahead and get stuff done rather than putting it off (I got that right I think. Sheila care to chime in?) So I am going to try to anticrastinate today which means less time online today.

I am grateful for pancakes. They are really yummy.
