There is a cartoon strip called Zits and today's had me laughing pretty hard.
Jeremy is talking to D'jion while they eat lunch at school on a bench
Jeremy: "My New Philosophy is to live life in the Moment. Unless the Moment, you know, Sucks. Then I live in some other Moment."
D'jion: "Works for me."
I don't know why that struck my funny bone as hard as it did.
What's strange is that not so long ago when I read Zits or For Better or For Worse or even Doonesbury, I read it from the kid's point of view. Now being a parent and over 40, I am reading it from the parent's point of view. I can still see the kid's POV but it is interesting going back and reading the old strips with my older eyes.
In other news, I found Ariel's cell phone in the Van and got it up and working again just in time for the bowling season. She had lost it during the summer and swore that she had checked the car for it. Flash forward as I am looking for missing bolts from the tailgate which held the lock in place. I look under the driver's seat and find a cell phone that I quickly identify as the missing cell phone. After finding the charger and taking off the block from the number, it works.
Peter is off to the city for a WGA Rally in Union Square. I am hoping that the weather will be nice for him since it has rained all the other times he has gone in for the WGA. He was up a little late last night finished a Star Trek Short Story he needed to get to an editor.
My coffee tastes really weak this morning. I must investigate later. Today I want to get two dolls off my plate and something else creative done. I think I can do that. Air feels different today. Sort of that nice clean feeling after a good rain that always seems to re-energize me.
Caroline is playing with her puppies. Yesterday she got to watch "101 Dalmatians" in our room. She took all her stuffed puppets to watch with her and turned them all so they could see the TV. Afterwards we moved the doggie parade back to her room and she went to bed and talked to the puppies about the movie.
I am grateful for cleansing rains.
