Sometimes You Just Need a Reminder
Oct. 17th, 2007 09:42 amI have a friend who is a doll-maker among many other things. I met her through a group that she runs online. She is over 80 and pushing 90 and has done quite a few amazing things in her life. She said to the group yesterday morning,
Sometimes I get up in the morning and am as tired as I was when I went to bed, but then once I have my wits about me I realize I am just very very lucky to get up in the morning, lol (I can hear her laugh after saying that so I believe the lol at the end)
It is such a simple sentiment but such a profound one.
Another friend has gotten me to reading two websites that I find interesting to read and ponder. One is Zen Habits and the other is The Daily Om . Both have given me things to think about. Can you tell I have been doing a lot of thinking recently?
I have been working up the energy to tackle a big project that I may now finally have the energy to do. I want to sit down and make a list of what needs to be done over the next two weeks and then see if I can sandwich in this monster.
I will be doing NaNoWriMo this year to see if I can make it to the third week this time. I do a little better each year. I do plan to do an outline before I start this time. So Art by the Inch is out this year but I am unsure if that project is still going.
I think I am finally out of the stall mode I have been in. I had been feeling like I am just turning my wheels and digging myself further into the mud. But some friends came and gave me a push and I think I can go forward again.
I am grateful for things that give me a positive kick in the rump and get me moving again.
