The Gimpy Golabkies
Oct. 2nd, 2007 10:46 amYes, that is the name of our bowling team this year. One team member is having terrible problems with a bone spur so between the other team member's knees and my back, we decided last night to combine our injuries and our Polish heritage for out team name. I think it works.
Speaking of backs, mine went out during our game last night. It was one of those times that make no sense but the pain is excruciating and I can feel the muscles tighten up in my lower back. I was sitting on the bench and leaning back a little. It was my turn to bowl (2nd frame of our 3rd game) and I went to get up while I was talking to someone behind me. OUCH! OUCH! OUCH! I tried to bowl (which was a rather stupid thing to do on my part) but I couldn't bend over. As long as I didn't sit or bend I was OK or not in screaming agony, just agony. Finally I slid myself into my truck and made it home where I put a heating pad on the affected area and got the back to loosen up a bit so I could go to bed. This morning I can feel a twinge but so far I am not screaming in pain. So much for all the things I was going to get done today. I think most of it is going to be sitting with my heating pad.
Caroline want to make puppets today so I think we are going to do paper-bag puppets so she can do another puppet show. She has one she does now with her mythical creatures book and cutouts.
I am grateful that I can stand up and walk.
