I woke up at 5:30 this morning and couldn't get back to sleep so after about 15 minutes I got up and started my day by getting bagels for the family. Then I worked on a couple of things and realized that I hadn't blogged but I had caught up pretty much with everyone else as well as some pending e-mails that have been...well...pending. That all out of the way clears the decks for the Doctor Who story I want to finish today and whatever Caroline needs from me. I really don't have to leave the house today unless I want to having run most of my errands yesterday with Caroline. I do have a couple of projects to break up the writing today so I don't go into brain lock.

We had some rather heavy thunderstorms last night so there is no need to water the lawn. That is apparently our weather pattern for the next couple of days. Not bad because we can use the rain since we didn't get much snow this year.

I have been thinking a lot about costuming and the materials I would have killed for in my younger costuming days especially for doing the Anime costumes. My friends Fiona and Phil dressed up as Captain Harlock and Queen Esmeralda back in the 80s and they did a good job but the materials that we have now would make those costumes so much easier to make. Especially for the detailing needed for those sorts of costumes. Someday I am going to make my Captain Harlock doll/marionette. Craft foam being a big addition to a costumer's arsenal. Also the resources of the Internet along with a myriad of people who are more than willing to give advice on how to make things has been a big help. I don't think I would have gotten into doll making as much as I have if it had not been for the Internet.

I am grateful that Caroline is progressing in her swimming lessons.
