So Caroline found one of those domino masks like the Lone Ranger wore and put it on. She told me she was a superhero! I asked her who she was and she proudly informed me that she was Skipping Girl and proceeded to prove the point by skipping all around the room. Thus Skipping Girl was born! And she has reappeared anytime Caroline puts on that mask. She likes skipping a lot.

She will come to me and announce that she is so hungry. I will give her a short list of what she can have. She looks at me hard and says, "No Mommy. I am hungry from something tasty." At which point I know she is not really hungry but angling for some sort of a treat. She loves eating corn on the cob. We are slowly expanding the food she will eat. She likes Fig Newtons now so we have another treat on the treat list that has some fruit in it.

I was making a paper doll for a swap I was doing this month. Caroline watched me work on it and declared she wanted to make a paper dolly too. I gave her pencil and paper and showed her how I did it. She sat down on her stool with my art board on the couch and drew a couple of paper dolls. She would get to a point and then stand up and look at what she had done with a critical eye. She would point out to me what she felt was lacking in her dolly then would sit down and fix the drawing. I think her first paper dolly is a keeper with some of her other artwork I have hung onto since she started drawing.

The other day I was working on my Doctor Who story when I saw out of the corner of my eye that Caroline was setting something up at the end of the coffee table. She tells me that she has a puppet show for me to see. She had gathered up some of her puppets and stuffed animals. She proceeds to perform for me a puppet show about a lost puppy and his family and friends who search to find him. She has puppetry chops for sure. The story had a beginning, middle, and end too. I am so proud of her.

The other day she was talking to my parents via iChat (one of the greatest inventions for the Mac in my opinion. Caroline has been doing these since she was less than a year old and it has been great for her, my parents, and me.) and she started talking about Doctor Who of some reason. She told them about Daleks and Cybermen and the TARDIS and the Doctor. She doesn't have a problem that the Doctor has different faces but is the same person. My parents know (had to live through) how big a Whovian I am so they also know how proud I am that my daughter with no prompting on my part is the next generation of Doctor Who fandom.

I am grateful for all that I do with my daughter.

Knee jerk reactions have been flying all over LJ due to actions/reactions/over reactions of lots of people. I will admit to this action too but given some time to think, I think I'm going to stay here on LJ.

The inital group that started this is finding themselves under a very bright light and thay seem to be scuttling back into the shadows trying to avoid the limelight that is being shown upon them and their activities (some of which really skirt the law).

Now Lj and its owner are trying to sort out what happened and make things rational again after the first knee jerk. It is never going to be as it was but this can be something that will make LJ better in the long run if done right. And I am wiling to give them the benifit of the doubt on this matter.

So there it is. I am going to keep an eye on what is going on around me but I am also going to give things a chance to sort out and see where the lay of the land is now.
