Gearing up for Farpoint
Feb. 13th, 2007 08:17 amI found out that one of my favorite doll artists and authors is in the hospital due to a very bad reaction to chemo. Susie Oroyan has done more for the modern doll artist than just about anyone else who is know in both the main stream and the professional field of doll making. Her books "Anatomy of a Doll", "Finishing the Figure", and "Designing the Doll" have become the doll makers bible for many. Those three books were what got me into the possibilities and potential of dolls. So good thoughts/prayers/karma (Yeah I know that is the westernization of the use of the word Karma) for her and her family would be a good thing. She is a good person.
Slogging along on the costumes. I feel like I keep getting closer while the goal keeps pulling away.
We may get snow and then rain and then snow again over the next two days. I am glad that we are getting this over now rather than at Farpoint.
Speaking of Farpoint, I have my schedule for the convention.
Saturday 12:00 Workmanship: Nuts and Bolts
Saturday 1:00 Costume: From Concept to Creation
Sunday 11:00 Puppetworkshop (The Basic puppet manipulation clinic)
Sunday 1:00 Make-up : A Dirty Job
Sunday 2:00 New Who Review (With Keith and Terri)
Of course I have the Masquerade on Saturday night.
I am grateful for the variety of panels that I have.
