Dec. 31st, 2006

I did complete one project before the new year starts. I went through about 10,000 (no that is not a typo) messages I had in various e-mail accounts dating back to September. All critical stuff I attended to at the time but list that I belong to and other things just got lost in the mail. During that time my computer had another screen failure which put me further behind for catching up. But as of today I am caught up which makes me feel good.

This evening is going to be real simple. We are going to the bowl alley for their New Year's Eve bash that we have been doing any year we are in town. That ends about 8:00 and we will be going to a party that one of our neighbors is hosting for the midnight portion of our program. All are within walking distance so we don't have to worry about the other drivers on the road. I really wonder when New Year's Eve became such a drinking holiday along with Super Bowl Sunday, St. Patrick's, Fat Tuesday, and Cinco de Mayo (really when did these all become drink until you drop occations?)

The family went shopping today so we have food covered for the next couple of days. A feeling of readiness is upon me. I am ready for the next year to start.

I can't say that I have big plans for 2007. I do, however, have some opportunities available to me that I am going to take advantage of rather then letting them slip by. I plan to challenge myself as both an artist and a writer this next year.

I guess I am looking not resolutions for next year but challenges that I want to meet. I am challenging myself to drink more water. I am going to try to achieve this with a very nice water container I have bought and used which will allow me to know how many ounces I am drinking in a day. I am going to challenge myself to follow Peter's example to eat less and exercise more which has been working well for him.

I am going to challenge myself to have all the costumes/art work done a couple of days BEFORE the convention. If I can do that, it will be a big.

I am going to challenge myself to keep things more organize and try not to allow a room to get away from me.

I am challenging myself to be a better person at the end of 2007 than I was at the end of 2006.

I am grateful for simple celebrations.

Happy New Year Everyone!
