An Entry about Caroline
Oct. 24th, 2006 11:21 amCaroline made me a necklace at AlbaCon and she loves it when I wear it. I offered it to her to wear but she informed me in no uncertain terms that only Mommy wears that necklace. She is quite proud of it.
I can't believe in less than 2 months she is going to be four years old. She has grown so much from a little baby who was the length of my forearm into a pretty young lady who is about 42 inches tall. Her hair has gone from wispy dark to long and curly. She loves to wear dresses and dress up as a princess. But she also loved to run and climb and play rough. She goes outside with her t-ball set and practices hitting. She is still good with a soccer ball. She loves to play in pools. She loves baths. She is very much a water person.
She loves to make up stories with her toys. Currently the panda family, which has grown to 8 members, is rescuing baby panda from the dangerous ledge. The puppy family is taking a nap in various doggie beds that she has created. Diego and his animal friends are having a party in his tree house. The Princesses are having a party in the castle but Ariel is off with her father on an adventure and the rest of the party has been assured they will be joining them soon.
She likes to be read to and if it is book that she has had read to her enough time she will "read" it to herself. She has a few favorites like Bed Bugs: A Pop-up Bedtime Book by David A. Carter and There is a Monster at the end of this book by the Sesame Street Workshop. She likes reading Clifford the Big Red Dog and Dora the Explorer. She loves Richard Scarry books and will spend long periods of time looking through the pictures. She likes books with flaps she can open.
It is so much fun to see the world through her point of view. Things that I didn't think were interesting anymore have been renewed through her interest. I am enjoying the heck out of being a Mommy.
Of course it is not all sweetness and light. There are her meltdowns which makes no sense to anyone but her. There are arguments about how many toys can travel with her at any given time. And she is still a very picky eater. Meal times can be a battlefield. But overall she is a good girl.
I am grateful that she is my daughter.
