A Travel Day
Sep. 8th, 2006 07:48 amTravel Days are always fun either in the good sense or the bad. I have us all packed up except for the last few things that are always the last things to go into the suitcase. I am not looking forward to the Atlanta Airport since everyone who is flying has to go through the same security gates so you have a lot of people going through a limited space. I have no idea how long it is going to take to get to the gate. Peter and Ariel arrived early in anticipation of a long wait but ended up with the long wait at the gate which is really the preferable way to have it. Caroline knows that we are flying home today on an airplane. She has been asking to see Daddy or Ariel for the past day so it is time to go home.
We did have a wonderful visit while here. I did take Caroline to the Center for Puppetry Arts. It didn't go too well since she got scared at the beginning of the museum with the Phoenix puppet. I should have gone with my first instinct and taken her into the friendly puppet room. Interestingly she has been asking to go back so I guess I will try it again next year. She got to show off her drawing skills to her grandparents and be her usual cute self.
Tomorrow I will turn 43. Hard to imagine that 30 years ago I was in high school. I had lunch yesterday with two old high school friends Anya and Carrie. It was nice just to chat about the past, present, and future. I also caught up on news about a lot of other people I knew/know. I am sure that news about me will be filtered back to those people.
It will be nice to get home. I have some stuff that I want to do that I can’t do unless I am at home. Ariel is back in school so we are back on a schedule of sorts. Next week I start my women’s bowling league which is a lot of fun. I am looking forward to that.
I guess introspection will have to wait for tomorrow as I need to finish getting ready for the activities of today.
I am grateful for smooth travel
