re-introduced the title since I haven't done one of these in a while. This is me without coffee in my system writing about whatever comes to my head which can be all over the map.
The weather has taken a turn for the really nice. There is a nice breeze and the temperature is in the mid 60s, which is a far cry from the high 80s and low 90s we had even two weeks ago. It is going to warm up back to summer over the weekend but I for one plan to enjoy this weather while it lasts.
I watched "Who wants to be a Superhero" last night. The series is growing on me. Dialogue aside it is not bad. The moment that caught and held my attention was when Monkey Woman went up again the two attack dogs for over 10 minutes to reach the door. I also love that one of the hero became Stan's super villain to thwart the others from reaching their goal. The show is pure Stan Lee and a great giggle to boot. I think Stan is a national treasure. I really do.
We have to board a plane in a couple of weeks to go to Atlanta for Dragon*Con. I have to rethink how we usually pack some stuff. The real pain will be that we can't take water onboard like we usually do. I hope (but am not holding my breath) that the airlines will compensate for the lack of liquid allowed on board. I am very glad that this plot was nipped in the bud before any of the planned explosions happened. Airport security is going to bounce back to what it was right after 9-11 which is a pain but I would rather that than the possibility of not making it back to the ground in one piece. I did have a nightmare about air travel last night but it was me on an airplane participating in a real "snakes on a plane" senario. Understand I am not scared of snakes but this dream was just weird with lots of snakes attacking. The problem was I knew it was going to happen and was still scared when it did.
The skeletons of 4 of the puppets are put together. Today I plan to sew the bodies and assemble them. I hope to get a few more ready by tonight to be done. I think I am going to time myself on one to figure out how long it takes me to make a body. I have never really figured out the time on one of these.
We are coming up on the anniversary of the breaks in the levies in New Orleans and the devastation of Katrina to the Gulf Coast. I wonder what happened to the people I met at Crescent City Con over a year ago. Have they gone back to their homes? Do they have homes after the flooding? They say that the population of New Orleans is less than half of what it was before Katrina. That's a lot of people who are elsewhere. I know that some my Mississippi buddies did go back to their house and rebuilt and repaired it. They say it was a chance to get some stuff done right on the house that had driven them crazy since they moved there a number of years ago. Not the way they wanted the chance but they are making the best of it.
After reading Colleen Doran's Fan from Hell story about what happened to Billy Boyd, I was going to write a rant about fans and respecting limits. But it would probably not be useful since the group that reads this is not like this fan at all. And on the off chance that someone is (which I highly doubt) they probably wouldn't recognize themselves in it. The sad thing is that other fans tried to get this person to stop harassing the guests and they didn't take the hint or even the direct approach of being informed that they are being an ass and annoying. It is things like this that put actors and others off of going to the conventions and tell tales of how strange fandom is to their fellow actors who then don't go because of the weirdo factor. I have had to explain and apologize for fandom to more professionals than I really care to over the years.
I am grateful that I went bowling with my husband last night.
