Memorial Day Weekend 2006
May. 27th, 2006 08:04 amHere are our splendid plans for this weekend. We are staying home and avoiding the mess that the unofficial first weekend of summer becomes all over Long Island. It doesn't mean we won't get anything done or go anywhere. We all have a couple of projects we would like to work on this weekend but we are not going to go far a field to do them. Peter may pull out the grill but only if the weather holds which is looking a bit sketchy today.
It will be interesting to see the travel statistics for this weekend. Predictions are that due to gas prices the number of people visiting somewhere is going to be less than last year. I wonder if they factor weather into those stats. It is also going to be interesting to see what the movies make this weekend over all. A number of movie companies bet on this weekend as a big take for their film. One of the things I am interested in is that drop-off on the Da Vinchi Code. The industry is already saying that MI:III is not living up to expectations. Sometimes I wonder what those expectations are.
My big project is to recover my studio to the point that I can work in it today rather than using it as another storage area. The scariest thing is that I have misplaced my principle puppet making patterns and can't find them. That sort of stymies my Doctor Who plans until I find them along with a few other projects. I am also hoping to find my folder(s) that have the patterns I created for the last set of puppets. That would shorten the amount of time this is going to take by a lot. I know I have been talking about this off and on for a while now but this weekend I want to get this plan into action.
I am grateful for anything I find in my studio right now.
