Irene Sharaff Awards 2006
Apr. 7th, 2006 09:41 amTonight I am off to the Irene Sharaff Awards which are for costuming. Irene Sharaff was an award winning costume designer who had been nominated 15 times for an Oscar and won it 5 times. She also had a number of Tony nominations with one win under her belt for "The King and I". Her set designs were very distinctive. This is where our Bear is making an appearance.
Tomorrow I am going to Wendy Froud's Doll making class which I am looking forward to. I need to find my sculpting tools among a few other things including some eyes I think I want to use this time. Someday I'll get around to finishing the previous dolls costume. He has his pants but not much else. I don't see him as a winged fairy although he may surprise me. I plan to get him decked out after this weekend including his feet re-attached. My goal this time is to sculpt much smaller than my first doll.
Caroline is enamored of a series called "Wonder Pets" where a Guinea Pig, a Turtle, and a Duckling rescue baby animals. She has been making up stories where our cats are in trouble and tells them to me. She sees a squirrel in a tree and tells me that there is a bunny stuck in a tree. Her imagination is boundless. She has been playing with her Fisher Price little people animals and telling some elaborate stories about the relationships between the animals and the adventures they go on together. Storyteller at the age of 3, she takes after her parents in this.
New Doctor Who this evening. "World War Three" has a lot of interesting stuff in it but don't try to pick it apart for the information you will need later. Just feel clever later when you realize that you saw a connection back in this episode.
I am grateful for opportunities.
