Happy Chinese New Year
Jan. 29th, 2006 01:06 pmHappy 4704 to you all
It is the year of the Red Fire Dog. Apparently it is an auspicious year to get married and start a household.
Finally, a year to regroup! In 2006, wrongs will be righted, the underdog will become an "overdog" and the idle rich may just become the idle poor. Watch and see. From January 29, 2006 until February 17, 2007 the disquiet, just, fair, loyal, suspicious, critical and sometimes pessimistic RED FIRE DOG will reign supreme, creating an overall positive influence.
I was born in the year of the Rabbit looking at the Moon aka Fire Rabbit. Caroline was born in the year of the Horse.
I got a bunch done on one of the costumes and hope to get more done today. I want to try to get everything done by the Super Bowl. We'll see how I do.
Someone asked me about DragonCon and youngsters. Most of the weirdness comes out at night and there has been less of it over the years. The costumes worn have to comply with Atlanta laws or they will be removed from the con. It is spelled out on the back of the badge in the fine print. You can tell whether a panel is all ages appropriate by the decsription in the pocket program because there will be a warning if they consider the program adult at all. There is also a Young Adult track which is very good and covers a bunch of subjects. Keep away from the Dawn Contest and some of the goth bands and the convention is very kid friendly. I will say that DragonCon is very family friendly since they do try to have stuff that all ages can enjoy.
I am grateful for buying extra cloth just in case. (like the cats yakking all over part of the cloth so I had to get rid of 10 inches but I over bought so I have enough to do what I need to do)
