An Artist Worries
Jan. 12th, 2006 09:57 amSometimes I think I over-think how something looks when I am creating it. People see the finish product and give me compliments. All I can see are the flaws and shortcuts I took to finish the project. This time around I am doing the hardest part of the costume first so I can feel better about the rest of it. None of it is going to be a picnic but I feel that I am on firmer footing on some of the construction than others. Then I need to do the second costume for Ariel and her buddies. I want to get all this done and another project by the end of January so that gives me a little more than 2 weeks to do it in.
I really need to sit down and figure out how much time I am spending doing what to figure out how get this project done. I use to do this all the time before Del Rey and I parted ways. Since then I would say not so much. I think part of it would be creating a schedule for me with flexibility for things that the family needs me for. After I get the 20 things that must me done today, I'll sit down and do that. Time can be an illusive beast. I already feel like I am behind the eight-ball because I didn't get up until almost 9. But then there is a study that suggests that trying to jerk yourself awake can be harmful for you and your sleep total. I love how one study will tell you one thing like all cholesterol bad and a number of years later they post a study saying oops there are good and bad forms of cholesterol and you need the good cholesterol for your body to function.
I am thinking about buying iLife '06 for my computer. It has garage band as part of the system and it would be much easier to record stuff for conventions with it. I am hoping that garage band would allow me to put a vocal track over music and cut music where I need it to be cut. Anyone use it and have an opinion either good or bad?
I am grateful for my organizational skills.
