6 Days to Christmas
Dec. 19th, 2005 10:46 amI can't believe that it is 12 days to the New Year. Some how that all gets mixed up in my brain until we are past Christmas and then it's Oh My It is a Week until the New Year! Since Gwen's birthday is January 1st, she is a little more aware of the date than many. She dropped by for a very short visit and we were talking about her birthday, school, and her plans for what is next. She got tickets to the New Years Eve "They Might be Giants" concert this year. Lucky girl. I took her and Shana to one of those concerts a number of years ago. This year Peter, Ariel, Caroline, and I are going bowling for our News Years Eve. We have done this before and it is a lot of fun. This year I think we are going to know more of the families there than we did even a year ago.
We watched "Once Upon a Mattress" last night and amazingly enough it is coming out on DVD Tuesday. I believe that is the single fastest turn around from air to purchase. Of course with the iPod now being able to do video and you can pick up episodes of series you like for a nominal fee, this won't seem so strange in the future. I enjoyed it. I thought that Carol Burnett did a wonderful job as Queen Aggravain but Tommy Smothers stole all scenes he was in. Tracy Ullman was fine a Princess Winnifred. It did give a slightly different undertone since both Ullman and O'Hare are in their 40's and Burnett is in her 70's. I can understand the desperation of the others a bit more to get this prince married.
I still have the crud. I think another day and it is a trip to the Doctor unless I am feeling loads better. I will say that the coughing has reduced from yesterday but I am still phlegm girl. Caroline has her little stuffy nose. She knows that we have medicine that makes her nose feel better. Today she asked me for her nose medicine and pointed to her stuffy nose. Her other discovery was the extra bed we have in Ariel's old room. She loves the "big girl bed." I may convert her crib to a big girl bed for her. The only problem is that then she can get up in the middle of the night and wander but then she is three now and getting to be such a big girl.
I did get the pictures up from her birthday party and her birthday.
Caroline's 3rd Birthday
I am grateful I got a chance to see Gwen before the New Year.
