Halloween the Aftermath
Nov. 2nd, 2005 08:16 amCaroline had fun during Halloween. She loved her costume so there was no problem getting her to wear it. We explained the "rules" to her and started to go door to door and collect candy. Trick or Treat became Trick Treat and we did get the occasional thank you which were more frequent as the night went on. When I saw that she was starting to slow down, I had us cross the street and work our way back home. She would not let go of her basket but had no problem towards the end to have Mommy carry her from house to house. After forcing her to eat dinner, we let her have a few pieces of her loot. That night I hid the candy and she hasn't asked for it since.
Peter is off to Wizard Con in Texas tomorrow. He already has most of his schedule and he is going to be very busy but it gives the fans in that area of the country a chance to meet him and get autographs if they like. Ariel is with me this weekend as is her busy social schedule of things to do on the weekends including marching at the last home game of the football team which I believe is now mathematically out of the playoffs. Caroline and I will probably find things to do or that need to be done. I think we have a convention next week also. November is turning out to be a rather busy one for us.
We bought Caroline a new Melissa & Doug toy. These are solid hand-crafted wooden toys and puzzles. She loves the ABC blocks she got last year and is now old enough to play with them. We got her the Magnetic Chalk Board/Dry Erase Board with the magnetic letters and numbers. She has been playing with it every since. For some reason she has taken to carrying around the O, the 0, and the 8. So far we have managed to keep that and the blocks all in one place.
I have found a new magazine that I just love called Cloth, Paper, Scissors. It is a Mixed media art magazine with tons of neat ways to doing different forms of art. I have always enjoyed the possibilities of collage but now with computers and scrapbook materials, it has gone to a whole other level.
I have my new list of to be done by the end of November. It is long and contains a number of projects I didn't get done in October but I am not too down on myself. October was a busy month for me with Most Happy and Halloween.
I am grateful for new artistic inspirations.
