There is a debate going on in a costuming group I read and occasional participate it if the self-proclaimed Queen Bee is off buzzing at other people. (It’s not ICG Jeff. I love the ICG list.) Right now some people are concerned about talking about the Revenge of the Sith and spoiling it for others. I find that a very funny phrase concerning the fact that we already know what is going to happen. I don’t know anyone who has not seen Star Wars: A New Hope. George stated years ago in a Starlog of all places how Darth Vader ended up in the suit. So no surprise there except he remembered what he had said back in 1977. Also with all the books out with pictures and all the rest including the DK visual guide, I think we can at least discuss the costumes without spoiler warnings. But then that could just be me.
Hitchhikers was a bit trickier since there were major changes in the story but the basics were already out there for anyone who wanted to see or hear them. Kingdom of Heaven raised another debate since the costumes are recreation of historical garb of the time sort of, kind of, if you really squinted. I really didn’t join any costuming groups before Return of the King came out so these sorts of strange lines that are drawn on the Internet are foreign to me. I figure if you are talking about costumes there are no spoilers.
Caroline wants to spend more time outside these days. The weather is cooperating with her wishes so far. This morning after her big sister put on her shoes, she came over to me with her shoes and socks and my shoes. She processed to plop down on the floor, hold her feet up in the air and yell “Shoes!” I put on her shoes and informed her she would need a sweater or light jacket before we could go out. She grabbed her purple sweater and held it out to me. I put it on her. She grabbed her little bear and soccer ball and ran to the front door.
We went out and kicked the soccer ball around a bit. She is getting good carry on her kicks. We went to the play structure in the backyard and she processed to climb up the ladder to the slide and then slide down. I had to catch her before the end of the slide because there was a puddle of water in it. Then she hugged a couple of trees she is apparently friends with.
I have a large pile of sticks behind my studio that I have been collecting for an idea I have for a doll/puppet. Caroline has helped me gather sticks for the pile before but I have always initiated the activity before. This morning she got into the backyard and started to pick up sticks and add them to the growing pile. She has a good eye for sticks. She found some nice straight ones.
We are going to see the 11 am showing of Revenge of the Sith. I am hoping we can find a seat together.
I am grateful for my daughter showing me other ways to look at the world
