Sometimes it is amazing how a hot cup of coffee can get the head back on track in the morning. I have, for the most part, stopped drinking it in the evenings. It is that first cup in the morning that really seems to start my day. I know caffeine is addictive but considering what I use to drink before I became pregnant and what I drink now, it has much less of a hold on me than it did.

sip, sip, sip.

I didn’t start drinking coffee until I was 25 before that my caffeine of choice was Coca-Cola or tea. Now it is part of my daily routine. I do like that most hotels have a coffee service in the rooms. It makes gets that morning hit of caffeine so much easier.

Not as much done yesterday as I would like but more than I thought I would get done. It is the little things that keep getting in the way and eat up time at a rapid rate. Caroline has needed me to be her comfort lap because she is not feeling well. Today she seems much better. She is happily eating her pancakes that I made from the recipe from the cookbook my mother put together for her children this past Christmas. So far I have made a number of the recipes including Coq au Vin and a really great beef marinade. I am proudest that I now can make Hollandaise sauce just like Mama’s. I’ll have some time this week to try one or two of the other recipes.

We finished watching Dr. Who: The Remembrance of the Daleks last night. It is a decent Sylvester McCoy episode with hints of things to come. I really wonder if they are going to keep the TV movie idea that the Doctor is half human (on his mother’s side) or what they implied in the final McCoy episode that the Doctor is the Time Lord God aka the teacher of Rassilon or maybe forget both and go back to him just being an outsider in Time Lord society. I am sad that I won’t be able to see these new episodes for some time since we don’t have BBC America or any of the other cable channels that would carry it. I have been a Dr. Who fan since I was a teenager.

I have a bunch of ideas for things running around in my head. They bounce off the front of my skull and rattle around some more. I think my goal for the day is going to be getting my desk back in working order rather than the leaning tower of paper one side has become. Then I need to go shopping for the RR doll I am working on. I know what I want to do for her but need a few items to do it. I wish I knew how to knit very tiny socks and had the time to do so. My next knitting project is the scarf I am doing for Ariel which I might get done before the spring. I found while knitting the Dr. Who scarf for Cindy Loo Who that it can be very relaxing and keeps my fingers busy while watching TV.

I have come to the end of my morning cup of coffee which starts my daily consumption of water that I am working on increasing. Looking around the Living Room, I see that I need to start at point A and work my way to point B again. Have a good day everyone.

I am grateful for that morning cup of coffee.
