Work vs. Work
Nov. 17th, 2004 08:51 amI may not get a blog in tomorrow morning since I have a job interview in the city tomorrow. It is the first real interview I have had in a while that is face to face. Most of my resumes seem to have been used to justify promoting other people as per the nondiscrimination laws on the books now. It is with a literary agency for a job I am qualified for because of all the other jobs I have held over the years. We’ll see what happens.
I am of two minds about getting another job in the city. On the plus side would be health insurance that we may not have to pay through the nose for. On the minus side are the hours which would make it difficult for me to see much of Caroline except the weekends. On the plus side would be that this job would be very interesting for me and sort of a lateral step from what I have been doing. On the minus side would be that my husband loses me working out of the house which allowed us to share childcare duties. As a good friend pointed out even if they offer me the job (a bit of a long shot) it doesn’t mean I would have to take it. I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it. Interviewing for jobs is good practice and keeps my hand in the job search.
I got about 3000 words written yesterday while taking care of a very fussy Caroline. I am going to try the same thing again today but my impulse is more to the cleaning that I have wanted to do. I want to clean up and reorganize a kitchen cabinet. I did that to the freezer and found all kinds of room after dumping food that was about 3 to 5 years old. I also clean up and out the refrigerator and got rid of a lot of very old and spoiled stuff. Then there is my art by the inch which started at gang buster and kinda fizzled. I was watching Cirque Du Soliel last night was inspired by what I was seeing. So I will get something done today I just don’t know what.
