Lots of rain and wind last night to the point where the windows were rattling while the rain was pounding. This morning we have puffy white clouds and blue sky with a stiff breeze. It is a rich blue sky that makes you thankful you got up this morning to appreciate it.

I did get my list done yesterday but not much more. I have started on 720 inches of art and hope to get it finished up by tomorrow. I also want to get started on the puppets and the story. I did work on it yesterday by discussion my outline with my husband. He had some good questions and good ideas that really clarified the story for me. I now have a solid grasp on the beginning, middle and end of the story. Now I have to write the bloody thing.

I wish I could draw really draw. I can rough sketch so someone can understand how something goes together. I think that sort of drawing is called mechanical drawing. Over the years I have tried various programs and ways to learn how to get the ideas and pictures on my head down on paper but it just doesn’t work for me. I can’t draw people or animals except in a style that is worthy of a 6 or 7 year old. My cartooning is not much better. My sculpting has improved but that has been years of practice with more misses than hits. I am very proud of the chest plate I did this past summer for the Labyrinth Costume. One of my best pieces of work I think. But is not to the caliber of what others do that I admire. One of the few frustrations in my life right now. Computer art doesn’t really work for me either. I can’t get the shapes to do what I want them to. So this month I am giving myself permission to sketch/draw/scribble whatever to try to see if I do have something there I can work with. I take consolation that I can make fabric turn into all kinds of neat things.

List for today. Clean up from the past two projects. Pull from the disaster I laughingly call my studio the materials I need for the next projects and start them. I also plan to post pictures on the web with my last two doll swaps and Halloween pictures. Just hope my energy holds up today. I have been feeling very tired recently. Not truly sick but on the cusp of being really sick unless I take care.

I am grateful I have my studio even if I can barely get in the front door.
