Fall is in the Air

Caroline went to bed early for her so she got up a bit earlier than usual. Peter and I had agreed that he could work on the story he owns for the Star Trek anthology to Keith and go to bed when he couldn’t type anymore. I would get up with the girls and get Ariel off to school this morning.

After that I am going to start sorting through the puppet limbs and see what I have got right now. I have the fabric for the rest of the group. Sometimes matching the dye job from one batch of fleece to another is impossible. This year the chain mail fabric is not as nice as last year’s chain mail fabric. Then there are the cloth patterns that you see once and it is perfect for what you are doing for a costume so you get some but you never see it again. No wonder so many fabric artists have such large stashes to hedge never finding the perfect fabric again. I had a hard time matching the colors of the suns on the Pasty and Arthur tunics.

Fall is in the air. I am feeling a vitality I haven’t felt in a year. The cats are starting to grow in their winter coats. Tomorrow is the Autumn Equinox. Where did the year go? New York is Book Country is the first week in October as is the Medieval Festival at the Cloisters. I guess I’ll be spending some time in the city next week.

My new Icon is Caroline and me at the Ren Faire this year.

I am grateful for small town shops with knowledgeable owners.
