Jun. 29th, 2004 07:58 amOne costume down and 4 to go in the great race to Shoreleave. I have another cut out and with luck will be finishing that one today. By the end of the week I hope to have 4 out of 5 done. If I get 3 out of 5 done by Saturday, I'll be happy. Just gots to keep at it.
In music news, I found out that a band that was one of my first CDs when I was younger has a new album out and I am intrigued enough to want to get the new album by “the Cure”. From what I have read, they have a new producer who got them to play together again and really listen to what they are doing. For the new reality series “Rock Star”, the prize is to be come the new lead singer for INXS. I find this sort of ghoulish but do understand the living band members wanting to keep the name alive. Still I will always think of it as INXS part deux since Michael Hutchence voice was so much a part of what made that band what it was in its prime.
The “Fallen Angel” trade paperback got a nice review on Variety.com. I highly recommend it to all. I think it is some of the best work Peter has done in comics ever. It’s not for the kiddies because he was aiming at the 13 and up set then got slapped with a mature labile due to something in an issue that if Bendis or Morrison or even Gaiman had done nothing would be thought about it but since it’s Peter David then it must be labeled to warn all. Which to me feels like a double standard.
