The day is kind of fragmented
I get up and have my last breakfast with my parents as a single white female. One of my best friends is coming over to do my hair so my mother makes sure she has enough coffee to cover his caffeine needs since he had done a drag show the night before (He does Drag Queen Puppets). My Aunt is there as well to help me get ready for my wedding. I get into the dress and hair and make-up are done. We go over to the church so that the photographer can get some pictures before. Ariel sees me coming and runs back to her sisters to get her father away from where I am. They take the pictures and I go to the brides room at the chapel. I know my friends are coming to the wedding. I can hear them talking. The minister comes in and asks if everything is OK. I say yes. Then it is time to start. I hear the music for the seating of the Mothers and I know that shortly I will walk down the aisle and wed my beloved Peter. We line up as we did in rehearsal. I can remember coming around the corner into view of the audience and everyone standing and smiling. I can remember Peter smiling as I came down the aisle to join him. The vows went off without a hitch. I don’t remember much but saying what I was told to say and then being pronounced man and wife. I do remember my sister reading the 1st reading with her chin quivering with emotion. Then off for more formal pictures with the photographer. I get to the Shakespeare Tavern for the reception. I remember that Jeff who owns the Shakespeare Tavern had said to me long ago at a friend’s wedding reception that if I wanted to use the Tavern for my reception I could since I had done so much for the company. I took him up on it. The Tavern was set up the reception. Harlan gave the best man toast. Other people in the wedding party said things about the bride and groom. Peter gave a short speech and it was my turn. I didn’t feel comfortable until Peter turned a napkin into a puppet for me. I spent the afternoon with my friends and dinner with my family. It was a very good day.

Peter and I are in Italy at a Science Fiction/Star Trek convention. Leonard Nimoy signed a book to us congratulating us on our 1st wedding anniversary. We had a lot of fun at the convention and were going to Paris the next day. The last meal was a party for all the attendees at the convention with the convention staff. We tell our translator during dinner that it is our first wedding anniversary. She tells the people running the convention. They make an announcement about it to the group. Lots of cheering. The Peter goes to the translator and tells her something that we have been quiet about. I was 8 week pregnant. As Peter put it , “When we found out that Kathleen was first pregnant we told just as few people his folks, my folks, and about 200 Italian Star Trek Fans.” The cheer that this new produced was loud and joyous. It was a very good day

Caroline is almost 6 months old. She is working on sitting on her own and rolling over. The sitting on her own is going pretty well but a bit wobbly. Rolling over is quickly leading to getting up on her hands and knees and rocking back and forth. Soon she would be crawling. My parents came up to spend sometime with their granddaughter and allow Peter and I to go out for dinner as two adults on our anniversary. We also take Ariel to see Cirque Du Soleil Varekai. Peter knows how much Cirque means to me. I found it at a bad point in my life and the show gave me hope and showed me that magic still existed in the world. Cirque has become a touch stone for me. Seeing Varekai was uplifting and renewing. It was a very good day.

My 3rd Wedding Anniversary
Peter and I have been married for 3 wonderful years. We have plans to go see Cirque later this week. Tonight we have a baby-sitter in place and are going out for dinner. It’s going to be a very good day.
