The Right to Complain
Mar. 2nd, 2004 10:00 amI went and voted today in the primary. I took Caroline in her stroller and walked over to the polling place. I am a firm believer that if you can vote and don't then you can't really complain about the state of politics today. It is only by voting that you can participate fully in the political system. We have a great privilege and responsibility that many only dream of having. I find it disturbing that so many people in their early 20s don't vote. When I was in High School, they made a big deal about registering to vote and then going out to vote. Now it seems that the attitude is if you really wanna, then you can but then you're not really that cool. And this is from the adults.....
If you can vote, use your power and your voice to express your views. It is one of the greatest rights in the world.
