Well it looks like the NYC area is bracing for another falling of the white stuff. I am going into the city proper to see a show with some friends. Considering what the weather was like LAST time I left the city, I am dubious about the trip home. In addition, there have been problems with both the subway and train systems due to the cold weather and rails cracking. The MTA authority is trying to keep up with the problem, but the cold is not giving up. So far we have manged to keep our house and ourselves warm. I do like snow. I missed it when I moved as a kid to Atlanta since snow was such a rare thing there. Now I have to shovel my walk and steps. There is something magical about watching snow fall and I never get tired of watching it. I do get tired of shoveling it. I know that the local weather folk love to make dire predictions of what will happen because it adds to the drama (Yea, I know drama of the weather). So we'll wait and see.

Well the weather emergency was down graded to a bother at most. But there may be snow behind that front OoooooOOOoooooo (insert spooky sounds) on Monday into Tuesday so the Saga Continues.....

I saw Jim David's one man show "South Pathetic" in a very cold new theater. It was the story of the time that Jim David directed "A Streetcar named Desire" somewhere in the wilds of North Carolina. It was very funny with a lot of characters and cliques that I so recognized from my years of working in southern theater..

Here is the publicity e-mail

"REVELATION THEATER presents SOUTH PATHETIC, a one man comedy written and
performed by JIM DAVID.

It tells the story of a performer so down on his luck that he accepts a job
directing a Tennessee Williams play at the worst community theater in the
South. There he meets a hilarious cast of characters all trying their hand at small
town stardom.

"From this unlikely premise, hilarious mayhem arises ... David is a very
funny man. If you aren't laughing out loud at the punchlines that pepper his
performance, you probably need resuscitation." - Rochester Democrat/Chronicle

JIM DAVID, one of NY's top comedians, has been seen in his own COMEDY CENTRAL
PRESENTS JIM DAVID, TOUGH CROWD WITH COLIN QUINN, the upcoming OUT ON THE
EDGE (Feb 2 at 10pm, Comedy Central) and many other shows.

SOUTH PATHETIC has been seen around the country and was recently produced at
the Williamstown Theatre Festival. It will have a very limited engagement of
one weekend only at the REVELATION THEATER, 334 West 39th Street, Manhattan, Th
urs Jan. 22 at 8, Friday Jan. at 8 & 10, Saturday Jan. 24 at 5 and 8. Tickets
are $20, reservations at (212) 947-7000. "

If it shows up in your area and you are not offended by southern stereotypes, go see it.
