Movies are coming out on DVD faster and faster. DVD and Blu-Ray is where studios make their money so they push it out quickly. Three months seems to be the new standard. It used to be six months. I'm not complaining. ;o)
Studios are pushing release dates because more people buy DVDs than go to theatres. It used to be a lot longer. I remember waiting FOREVER for the first Lord of the Rings.
There are going to be multiple editions of the DVD? I just pre-ordered the one that popped up on Amazon. There didn't seem to be different versions. I'll have to check what I've ordered. I want whatever one comes with the most extras.
FYI, Just checked Amazon. There is one DVD and one Blu-Ray edition listed.
Apparently at least some DVDs are going to come out in two versions: first a "rental" version, with no extras; then (a few weeks? a month?) later a cheaper "retail" version, with the extras.
I really hope a 2-disc special edition comes out. I hate spending money on single discs with little to no features. It's not worth it, when I can just download the movie.
