RTBTCKI (20 years ago the Wall came down edition)

It is hard to believe that 20 years ago the Berlin Wall came down and shortly there after the world changed forever. The Soviet Union fell apart. The red menace became a little less menacing or at least couldn’t be used as a scare tactic. There is still serious unrest in the region and all kinds of internal problems but the world did change.

Caroline caught something at school. She started running a temperature yesterday and it only got worse as the day went on. Peter stayed up with her most of the night. I did what I could to help. She seems better today but I am keeping a close eye on her. She is home from school today and will have a Doctor’s appointment later just because the fever doesn’t seem to be going away.

I did see the Giants/Chargers game and watched it slip through the Giants fingers. I really hope they take the bye week to get their heads back in the game. No team is winless this year which is kind of nice. Two teams are still undefeated which are the Saints and the Colts. I wouldn’t mind seeing those two teams go head to head at the Superbowl. They both have been fun to watch. Also the Colts were really my first football team when I lived in Baltimore. In college ball, I think that is the highest that Georgia Tech has been in the poll in a long time.

While we were in Australia, Caroline found a new cookie/biscuit that she loved. They are called Tim Tams and we bought some before we left Australia figuring that once they were gone, they were gone. I go into the grocery store last week to pick up a few things we need and I see a display by Pepperidge Farm with a food lady offering people a sample of a new cookie that PF was making called Tim Tams. Yep, we now have a version of Tim Tams in the US. We had a few of the Australian versions to compare them. The PF’s aren’t bad. Not as rich in chocolate as the Australian version but still they do taste like Tim Tams.

I am current on my word count for NaNoWriMo but today may seriously test this as I have a bunch of things I must do including taking Caroline to the Dr’s today. I didn’t think I was going to get yesterday done but I did.

I am grateful that my husband is so great about stepping up to the plate when I need him to.

Yep. Even did a few when in Australia. Goes very well with tea.

Yeah, was going to mention the US Tim Tam. Haven't had any myself yet, but per sources it seems that Campbell's owns both Arnott (Australia maker) and Pepperidge Farm (US maker), so not a shock. I've seen one claim they're only available through March, but no confirmation on that.

Limited release has done well for Nabisco so I could see PF trying the same thing.

Loving Tim Tam Slams. I will have to see these new PF things and compare myself. I would love to have a TTS right about now.

In illness news, the Dr. I talked to today (in East TN) mentioned that they are not necessarily seeing a lot of flu, but mostly bacterial infections and such, best taken care of with fluids, rest, and Mucinex DM/Benydryl for the worst symptoms. Oh, and I got a Zpack, too. Best things EVER, though I hate the size of the pills. Ick.

In other words, I'm sick with something, and I can't go to rehearsals until my contagious symptoms (sneezing/coughing) are gone. Plbbbb.

Here's to better health soon.

We may have a case of H1N1 with Caroline. We are now waiting for the test results as I type this.

Praying for a good test result that tells you definitive information that you can use to speed up the healing process.

Oy.

Here's hoping she's better soon, no matter what it is.
