Busy Day with the PTA and Girl Scouts

I am again the room rep for Caroline’s class this year. She has a very pro-active teacher so I know there will be lots for me to do with the class this year which I think is a good thing. We had the PTA tea today and met with the teachers and the other helpers. We have very good group this year.

I also attended the first part of my girl scout leader training today. I have the second half in two weeks time. Then in November I have my CPR and first aid classes and I will be certified as a Girl Scout leader. I can also take the girls camping if I finish the camp tutorial in time.

This evening I have the monthly PTA meeting and then I am done until I get back from my walkabout.

Tomorrow is about getting the house ready for Ariel and Caroline gets her flu shot.

It is going to be a very busy week.

But I am grateful that it is such a busy week because it is busy for all the right reasons.

In all my scouting years, I never once went camping. Not as a girl, not as a leader.

I loved being a Girl Scout leader! We went camping, created floats for parades, did lots of community service projects and learned about careers. When I was young, I was a Camp Fire Girls but having experienced Girl Scouts, I think I would have liked that more.
