Summer Vacation 2009 Day 1

For the kids anyway. Caroline is already up at about her usual time and off to the gym with Peter. I don’t expect Ariel much before 9 and she will be getting a wake up call at 9:30 if she is not up.

I have all the laundry I didn’t do this weekend which needs to be done. I have a puppet to finish which is going to take a trip to the fabric store for a couple of things. I have some costumes that need finished and fixing for Shoreleave. I might even build myself my Barbossa coat since I have the hat. Call it Barbossa 1.0.

Yesterday Peter and I went to see “The Proposal” which is a fun romantic comedy with some real heart to it. It is a superb cast and a good script. I might be a little more partial to it than most since I have working in publishing and I know people like Margaret Tate. It was not far off from some editor in chiefs I have encountered. I recommend it as a good romantic comedy. I had a headache yesterday so Transformers wasn’t happening.

Some of those pies in the sky that I spoke about a while back seem to be landing. Not much I can say but this may be the make or break week on a couple of them. Your good thoughts and kind words have helped just cross your fingers for us as we try to get some luck rolling for us again in the right direction.

I am grateful that I took yesterday off.

**keeping fingers crossed here**

I have no interest is going to Transformers, but the Proposal and My Sister's Keeper both look good.

We're avoiding My Sister's Keeper due to Robbie's untimely passing last year. After a year with dealing with a friend's cancer, I don't need to see a movie about a family dealing with cancer because I have seen it so recently in real life.

I am not saying you shouldn't see it. I have heard good things about the acting and the script but right now it is not my cuppa.

I can appreciate that. It was at least three years after my sister died of undetected ovarian cancer that I could even watch a hospital show... but MY SISTER'S KEEPER is on my list, as is THE PROPOSAL. We saw TRANSFORMERS 2 at the IMAX and it was awesome! But do go without a headache... LOL

I'm probably going to take my 11 year old daughter to see Transformers but as for the rest of them, they show up on TV so quickly that I rarely go out to films any more - only the ones that will look really good on a big screen.

Still thinking about you on the pies in the sky direction. Hope they're all pecan [mmm....or pumpkin] and that they land successfully and soon.
Allie.

Fingers crossed about the pies. (As long as they don't hit you in the face... :)

Hee hee...pretty much what I was about to say. :) So, ditto!

Good thoughts coming.

We saw Transformers last night at the drive-in, which is always a fun way to see movies. I'd like to see The Proposal, but [livejournal.com profile] darthsatyr isn't a big fan of romantic comedies, so I'll probably wait for the DVD then rent it myself some evening when he's working.
