Update on Caroline

She has her first case of strep throat and a nasty cold on top of the strep. We have antibiotics for her and after two doses the fever is much reduced this morning. The cold is just going to have to work itself out of her system. The sad thing is that because of the post nasal drip she is coughing which is irritating her already sore throat.

We are very lucky that our pediatrician has Sunday hours so she could see Caroline rather than having another day of scary fever before seeing the Doctor.

The Super Bowl was a solid game and it could have gone either way. That the Cardinals fought back as hard as they did and take the lead was nothing short of amazing. Favorite commercial was the Alec Baldwin Hulu.com commerical. Caroline loved the 3-D Monsters vs. Aliens preview.

I am so grateful that Caroline is better.

I am glad she is feeling better. Strep is a no biggie around here. LOL Daniel gets strep at least once a year and just a few doses of antibiotics and all better. The first time he got a virus (around age 9) I totally freaked out. I couldn't just give him amoxocillian and make him feel better. He had fever for 3 days and I was a total mess. My SIL was hysterical, her kids get viruses all the time, but Daniel almost never does!

Ewww... Strep was the demon of my childhood. I've had strep throat more times than I can count. Poor kid. I'm glad she's doing better.

Never had strep throat, but I know enough of what Caroline's feeling. Poor kid. She'll climb out of that illness, though. (Indeed, thanks for Sunday pediatrician hours.) I hope she's better quickly!

Even people who don't like football were saying how well that game turned out (http://apocalypsos.livejournal.com/1903474.html). (Though there are choice, funny words against the Cardinals defense in that thread.)

So glad that she is getting better. Strep, poor kid. Amazing how they bounce back though once the meds kick in!

Wow. Strep throat is awful to have to go through! I'm glad you were able to take Caroline to the doctor! That's great that Sunday hours are available! Hope the little one is in tip-top shape ASAP.

You've got to praise a doctor in this day and age who doesn't just stick to 9-to-5.

Hope she feels better soon.

*hugs* all around.

FYI - I may make NYCC, but it doesn't look like you will. See you there if you do and I do. :D

I think I've recall only one time of strep in the last few years, they are nasty! Hope she feels better soon.

Sympathies to Caroline; I got strep 2-3 times a year as a kid (and back then, the preferred method of treatment was two shots of penicillin in the butt, which hurt like heck).

Poor little one. I hope she continues to improve with no complications.
