Just Starting at Point A

Just Start at Point A

I know how to make puppets. I forget how long it can take to make puppets. I have gotten my basic puppet down to a reasonable amount of time but it still takes time. Plus there are steps that have to be finished one day and allowed to set or dry until the next so I can only go so far on something until I need to wait a number of hours before moving onto the next part.

Fortunately am making more than one kind of puppet so I can work on the next part of the next project before going back to the first one.

I am debating whether to photo document this exercise or not. Show where I am at each day. Or rather where I was when I was at the end of the day.

Progress is a good thing.

Off to work on some doll bodies and do some more gluing for puppet heads.

Might have to go to the Fabric store later for some more supplies but I am working on using all that I have before getting more. See how much of my stash I can use up with these dolls and puppets.

Last year I did a set of Puppets entitles Boy Wizard; Boy Wizard's Best Friend; Headmaster; Potions Teacher.

This year the titles of the set are Deathless Leader; Ex-Cop; Computer Genius; The Barista; The Dead Guy; The Former Companion.

I am grateful for getting chunks of things done that will make my life that much easier down the road.

Is that a Doctor Who of the 00's reference that I'm not getting because I just haven't had time to throw myself into that fandom?

I'd love it if you do a photodoc as you go along! Maybe not on this run if things are too crazy, maybe on another build on down the road?

I love watching Project Runway, Top Chef, and even Shear Genius and ANTM (sometimes) because I love seeing the process behind the finished work. How things evolve and ideas shift and change between then and now fascinates me. Getting to see how you work and watching the puppets grow from ideas into reality would be such a treat.

Ooh, photo documentation could be interesting if you have the time to take the photos.

See you at the con!

Love those titles! Are you going to post pics of the finished products? Especially looking forward to Deathless Leader and Dead Guy. :D
