We found out this morning that a family that are some of our best friends were told that their eldest son has leukemia. It is apparent the best kind of leukemia to get if you are going to get it. He is under going treatment now. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

I am grateful for medical treatments that didn't exist even 10 years ago.

My aunt (mother's oldest sister) was diagnosed nearly 20 years ago and is still doing well thanks to advances in treatment. I hope your friend's son makes a full and swift recovery.

I'll think of him and wish him well. (And I'll continue to be glad that composer Patrick Doyle (http://doylefans.squarespace.com/) beat leukemia, too. Sounds like what Doyle got was more aggressive than your friend's, and Doyle recovered from it.)

I don't need to know - but my thoughts and hopes will be with them. There have been such great strides in treatment in the last decade, and I'm hopeful that he will pull through, not just with that, but with the love and support of his family, which is almost if not just as important as the medical aspect.
