Caroline's BooBoo Update

We saw her Doctor.

Looks like a spider bite (two puncture wounds) so we are giving her Benadryl to counteract the reaction and we'll see where we are tomorrow. It hasn't gotten any worse than it was this morning so that is a good sign.

Thanks for all your good thoughts. I appreciate them.

I am grateful that this is no more than it is.

Spider bites = the suck! Glad you caught it quickly and got it treated.

Yep. I just wish I had figured it out last night rather than this morning. I could have given her Benadryl then and spared her the itches she is feeling today.

If itching is the worst of it, that's a good thing. *remembers the agony my leg was in when my spider bite got infected* Hope it clears up quickly.

I'm glad to hear she'll be okay.

Thanks. She is a pretty solid kid and tends to bounce back from adversity pretty fast.

Thank God she's alright! :sends boo boo kisses:

Thank you. Caroline says thank you for the booboo kiss.

My best wishes to your daughter. I am glad she is doing as well as she is. How is she taking all this?

[identity profile] puppetmaker40.livejournal.com 2007-08-09 09:09 pm (UTC)(link)
She is taking it really well all things considered but that shouldn't surprise me. She tends to take her bumps and bruises in stride. The hardest thing for her is not to scratch it but she has been doing pretty good with that.

I am glad she is okay! I had a boss once who would get the worst allergic reaction to spider bites. The swelling was crazy!

By this point it is looking much better. I am amazed in the change by just giving her Benadryl.

Poor sweetie. Hugs to you all!

I should have read the rest of my FL before posting to the last post. Oops!

I'm glad she's feeling better. Benadryl is great stuff, except it knocks ya flat for a few hours. The topical stuff will work on the itchies. You can also find a topical cream with lidocaine in it, and that really kills the itchies. Good luck!

She did take a mega-nap but her hand is looking so much better than it was even earlier this afternoon. She can move all her fingers pretty normally now.

Best wishes to her and to you all!

Thank you. She is doing much better now.

I got bit by a spider once (I didn't see what bit me and I thought it was a mosquito) but later that night my whole arm swelled up and had fever in it, but within 24 it had eased up, so just tell the little princess that now she has this really cool story because not everybody gets bit by spiders. Glad she is okay.

Thank you.

She has a bit of a bug phobia anyway and this sort of re-enforced it. I think we cleaned up the areas where she was playing yesterday.
