RTBTCKI (The "Boy I Slept Late" Edition)

Caroline got up at 6:47 this morning. I tried to open my eyes with not much luck. So my wonderful husband got up with her and let me sleep a little more. I awoke a 9:04 to find two cats meowing outside my door wanting to know where their morning head skritches were. This after some seriously strange dreams I had between 6 and 9. Still sorting those out. So I got the coffee going, dressed Caroline, brushed her hair, and starting writing this web log entry.

Shrek 3
Peter and I really don't understand what the critics were complaining about. We both liked it better than the second one. They went back to the fairy tales aspects of the film which worked so much better than the pop references for the second which are probably not going to hold up over time. This one had a very coherent story to it and everyone did great voice work.

And Caroline sat through the whole thing watching the film and commenting quietly to me about what she was seeing. Keeping a four year old in their seat watching a movie is no easy trick. The only time we got up was when she told me she needed to use the restroom. She enjoyed it a lot. It was a good family movie for all ages child, teen and adult.

American Idol
Ariel has been watching this religiously while the rest of us are just kind of following along. Out of the final two, she would be glad if either won because she likes them both. She just didn't want the third finalist to get to the final. Of the two left, if Blake wins she will be very happy and I won't be too unhappy since the kid's got talent and vision for what he can do with music also I really like techno-pop.

Dancing with the Stars
No interest in it this year so we didn't watch but if John Ratzenberger didn't win then Apolo Anton Ohno winning was my second choice. Just didn't float my boat as it has in seasons past. Might be time to retire this one.

Paper Brads
I am trying to find tiny ones to use for some paper dolls I am making and striking out in all my usual places. Anyone have any ideas? The bodies are about the size of a baseball card just to give you some sort of scale.

Bowling
It was the dinner for my league last night. It is a fun time to get together and talk about the season and the summer to come. My team didn't finish in last place which we were very happy about. I did get some awards including 60 pins over average, my 140 patch, my 180 patch (yeah I skipped my 160 patch), 75 pins over my average and a step ladder patch. A step-ladder is when you shoot a series that is within 1 to 10 pins each game. I got one for a 88, 98, 108. My team mate got one for 222, 220, 218. I am the first in my family to get one. Ariel and Peter have both come close.

Doll and Puppet making
In stall until I finish my Doctor Who story and turn it into my editor (waves at Keith. Yeah Yeah I know Peter and I are becoming your problem children on this project)

Cleaning
Well I need to get the living room in shape by Sunday since we are having company. I know I can do it.

Life
Life is pretty good right now. Considering what the beginning of the year brought, I am liking this part of the year much better so far. Here's to continued good things for the rest of the year.

I am grateful for my improvements in bowling.

We watched Shrek 3 yesterday, and I agree with everything you said. Certainly not as good as the first one, but better and truer to the first than the second was. Also I want to do a pack of fighting princesses at Dragon Con, it would be very cute :D

Oh I so look forward to see that.

I love that the "fabrics" used were real fabric and that they had a costume designer design all the costumes so there are real models of the dresses that were made for the animators to look at for flow and movement. On the making of that is currently running on either HBO or Showtime (I think HBO but it all runs together) they talked to the costume designer who showed his sketches and the fabric swatches that they used.

Good to know about Shrek 3 as I had been taking the critics to heart. I did read in Entertainment Weekly that the trio of princesses was a hoot. We'll probably actually go to the theater for this sometime this month. Thanks!

Bowling patches! I have a small tin with the ones I earned from ages ~7-16 from Saturday morning leagues. One of my fondest memories was moving to a new town and joining the league. No one knew me so I was kinda picked last for a team. I then went on to have like the second highest game for the day. Stealth weapon! It's fun the variety of patches they come up with. I remember one season we won an award for last place even.

Bowling patches are fun. This is only my second set of them but I didn't start bowling until I was 40 in league.

We were left scratching our heads about the reviewers wondering what they were expecting from the the film.

I was happy that Apollo won. I was voting for him all along. He's such a cutie.

I stop watching AI once the audtions are done, I think they are the best part.

Thanks for the info on Shrek 3. I wanted to see it but heard it wasn't that good.

I'm glad life is good, it's definately better then it was 5 months ago.

He is a cutie and I cheered hard for him anytime he was skating at the Olympics.

Go see Shrek 3, I bet you will have a blast.

(waves at Keith. Yeah Yeah I know Peter and I are becoming your problem children on this project)

*waves back* And you two aren't the only ones I've had to give extensions to......

Honesty I am about half way in the word count and am working hard on finishing it.

Peter has his all sorted out and is working hard on it.

Cool. Three other writers are in a similar boat -- two needed extensions due to other deadlines that got in the way, and one has health issues, so it's not like I'm just waiting on you two. As long as all five of you turn 'em in by 1 June, life will be good. *grin*
