Dave Cockrum R.I.P.

I had some other stuff that I was going to talk about until I found out about Dave.

He was one of the greats and will be missed by many.

The first time I met him I felt like a drooling X-fan but he was very nice to talk to. Later we met under a number of different circumstances including being introduced to each other by Peter with Dave saying, 'We've met before right?' Always a gentleman.

Nice guy. Great sense of humor. Incredible Artist.

He will be missed.

I am grateful that I knew Dave.

I will always remember seeing him nearly every year for thirteen years at the Ramapo Comics Con in Spring Valley. As you said, a true gentleman and very professional.

Time to hug my Bamf doll.

Just saw the news when Peter's post came through my rss reader. Dave was yet another of those artists I grew up reading without knowing who he was (because I was too young to appreciate the idea that there were individuals working on those books). I was reading reprints of his X-Men and LSH work when I was still in elementary school.

Alas, I was never lucky enough to meet him at a con. I'm glad to hear that he seems to have been just as good a person as he was an artist.
